I've been staring at this depressing kids' bathroom for years. I simply put it on hold while finishing other home improvement tasks before deciding it needed a minor upgrade. Yes! I am so anticipating this one!
The bathroom before I started the update is shown below. It is very similar to our guest bathroom and master bathroom before I made changes to those rooms, too.
It was very satisfying to break down this tile with a heavy hammer and crowbar. I hadn't previously removed tile, but I did now. It was difficult, but pounding away at it was almost therapeutic. The installation of the wood floors actually made me quite anxious, yet it was surprisingly simple! It was doable by anyone. The floors I chose are sturdy, reasonably priced, and also rather lovely.
You may be wondering why I believed it required updating. Already, it was so beautiful.
I thought about removing the tub/shower combination and installing a walk-in shower here, but I chose to leave it as is and invest my money elsewhere. You can't always spend lavishly! But I still think it turned out adorable thanks to the colorful shower curtain. How do you feel?
Pfister made the stunning matte black faucet. We also have a Pfister faucet, and we appreciate the variety they provide. The sleek lines and contemporary appearance are why I chose this one. It is utterly timeless and always in fashion.
This vanity was a definite success. The building quality is excellent. This is a sturdy object! It also includes a counter top and sink that are already fitted, which was fantastic. I wholeheartedly endorse this vanity.
I painted the room in Graphic Charcoal by Behr and added shiplap. I adore how dark the hue is in this little room. When a space is small, I think most people are afraid to paint the walls a dark hue, but I actually think it creates such a great contrast and almost makes it feel larger.
I chose to mix horizontal and vertical because I felt it would be entertaining. In the end, I wanted to make the kids' bathroom a fun place without being overtly childish. Still chic and attractive.
